Okay mom - Here's an idea for food:
Tuesday: Breakfast at home, Lunch on the road, Dinner: Spaghetti
Wednesday: Breakfast - scones & fruit, Lunch - Chicken Salad Sandwiches chips & vegies
Dinner - Taco Salads
Thursday: Breakfast - pancakes & bacon, Lunch - Tuna or Egg Salad Sandwiches chips & vegies
Dinner - Hamburgers
Friday: Breakfast - Omlets in baggies & hashbrowns, Lunch - hotdogs & chips,
Dinner - BBQ Beef Sandwiches
Saturday: Breakfast - Cereal & Muffins, Lunch - anything left over, Dinner - Dutch Oven Chicken
These are just suggestions, and the order might need to be changed, but we could make a master grocery list of everything we need for each meal. Then make subcategories such as bread/chips/cereal/muffins; fruit/vegies; condiments/toppings; etc. Then each family would be responsible to purchase the items in their category. We could meet at your house on Tuesday morning to pack the coolers with everyone's stuff. I think each family should bring drinks they like, and we could just keep a couple of coolers stocked throughout the week. We could also make lemonade for meals.
I think a float down the river would be a blast - especially for the kids. I think we should all bring a couple of games too. TJ and I could pull your trailer with bikes, or if you want we could pull your boat and you can ride in our car to eliminate one extra vehicle. Bikes would be fun, but the roads in the campground are pretty steep! Get in shape if you want the bikes! If we do bring bikes everyone would have to get them to your house, or bring them out to us if they want them on the trailer. This might get a little crazy, so we should decide if it's something we really want to have up there or not.
I'm sure some will want to go fishing - just remember to get a license if you want to. I definitely want to take a Dam Tour (tradition). And I think it would be fun if each family planned a little "campfire devotional" for each night. I love the memories of the fun skits and stories we shared in Lake Powell - I think it's great for the kids.
Okay, there ya go! Hope this helps! I'm not trying to take over, but I don't see a whole lot of response out there!
