You are the best.. Man, I look at the wonderful video you put together of Brycen and his football game.. That video does not tell the tale of how tough that undefeated team was that they beat... I remember talking to Brycen, as he wanted to give up because he was double teamed at times and not getting past the front line...

This video captures that character from a handsome young 7 year old, who did not quit and give up.. I play that video over and over and have such a strong sense of pride as a Father..

Brycen's First Football Game

We are thinking Brycen might have found a nitch! He loves to hit hard and didn't miss one tackle in his first game last Saturday. His team lost, but for being as little as he is, he was awesome! We all loved watching him! His arms are sore and he has some new leg bruises but all in all, he says it doesn't hurt to tackle or be tackled! I think he is so darn cute but I was quickly told that football players aren't "cute"! We hope you can all make it one of his games! Maybe when it cools down a bit....

A couple of things: first, here is their first day of school! It's fun to see them so excited! They weren't very happy with me because as I was taking pictures, the bus drove by - they missed it! Oh wells! Bren is starting 5th grade and Brycen is in 2nd. Morgan is a freshman this year - can you believe it? Next, I neglected to thank Jen and Kyle for finding the airline tickets to go to Arizona! I had so much fun just being with my siblings...it was awesome!

Hey everyone, we wanted to make sure you are all still on for Hawaii in 2010. Kristie and I are trying to pick some dates so we can reserve our place. I talked to mom and dad and we are going to need a second room to accomodate all of us. It should be a great time. Right now airfare to Maui is $330.00 so I am going to assume we will be able to find such great priced flights next year as well. I'm good to have everyone up here but I'm hearing some would like it later in the day to accommodate church schedules. If you all don't mind driving up later, and driving home later, no problems here. Also, there is an Easter Cantata at the Tabernacle at 7 on Easter Sunday. It's free to the public, kind of amateur, but tells the Easter through music. Morgan and I have enjoyed going in the past. It's about 2 hours. Just something to consider.....

As you may well know, Easter falls on mom's birthday this year. So instead of having her make dinner and all we could do two things:

1. Still have it at moms, but we (Jenn, Kyle, Kim, Grandma Joy) bring all the food

2. Have it at one of our houses (Jenn, Kim or Kyle)

What do you think? I believe that Alicia and her family will be in Arizona. We will also need to see what to do about the Easter egg hunt (maybe mom can still do that??)

We had a great time in Fargo as you all know, and we are soooooo excited to bring these two babies into our home this summer. Thanks for all your prayers as the next few months will be about patience and anxious anxiety. We feel so blessed to have met Helen and we will ever be grateful for her decision to allow us to be parents, in such a loving way. Here are some of the ultrasound pictures. Sugar Bowl 2009 GO UTES, Fiesta Bowl 2009Tough Loss Buckeyes

Here is a picture of us watching the Sugar Bowl in AZ and a few from the Fiesta Bowl. What a game......The Utes kicked some butt and became the only undefeated team in college football this year. I think we all agree that this undefeated team is much much better then the 1984 cougar team and if the system for picking number was the same the Utes would be national champs, not bad AP #4 when they started the season not ranked in the top 25. Dad, Kyle and I had a great time together during this weekend. The drive to AZ went by quickly as we just laughed the whole way home. Unfortunately the weekend was not a complete success as my beloved buckeyes lost again. Maybe next year I will not attend the game and get some better results. Anyhow we had a great time...

The games are at the Gene Fullmer Fitness Center on 8015 S. 2200 West. You have to park on the South Side of the building and then walk around to the fields on the North. Her team is green.

Here are the pictures of our first day of school. They were so excited that they couldn't sleep the night before. I should have taken pictures when they got home because they weren't quite as excited! Brycen said he wasn't going back to first grade - it was too long, too hot, I made him wear clothes that matched, and there were no snacks! I took the day off of work to see them off and then I had a play day of my own! I did a little happy dance as all of my kids are now in all day school! I told Mike that I can work full time now. Ha! Ha!

Hey Morgan - Have a great time at camp. I will be excited to hear all about it next weekend.

Now to our trip to Flaming Gorge. I hope everyone is getting excited. I can hardly believe that it is here and we will be leaving next week. Here are a few of the details that I have heard from everyone:

Mike and Kristy will be leaving Thursday after work, drive to Page or Kanab and the rest of the way on Friday. As of today, they will be bringing their boat. They will leave with us on Tuesday and leave Sat morning to head back home.
Alicia, TJ and family are going on Tuesday and leaving for home on Friday.
Kyle, Kristy, and Nick are going Tuesday and staying through the weekend.
Jenn, Fletch & family will be coming up on Wed and staying through the weekend. Fletcher is hoping to get a cast on his foot this week.
Kim, Mike and family are leaving Wed morning and also staying through the weekend.
Dad and Idon't know for sure if we can stay until Sunday yet. Should know after Tuesday.

I have the following food suggestions:

Tuesday: Lunch on the way up; Still deciding on dinner - any suggestions?

Wedensday: The Cerva Family: Egg Omlets, Hot Dogs, Spaghetti

Thursday: Davis Family & Kyle & Kristy: Cereal/Donuts, Wrap Sandwiches, Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Friday: Klinkowski Family & Mike & Kristie: Scones, Lunch, Marinated Steaks & Dutch oven potatoes

Saturday: Mom & Dad: Pancakes, Sandwiches, Hamburgers,

Sunday: Scrambled eggs, bacon or cereal or pancakes - what do you think?

Each family should bring a case of water and other drinks to share. I have large packets of orange gator-aid and I will buy lemonade to mix up in a water jug. I have a box of fruit leather, fish crackers, and a bucket of red vine licorice. I will also see what Dad can bring from work. I also have a ham that we could use for lunch meat and a turkey breast I could cook and slice for the sandwich wraps, etc.

I think it would be fun for the night you have dinner, to plan a family activity for later in the evening after dinner, fishing, etc. This would be for Wed., Thurs, and Friday. What do you think?

I haven't planned anything to float the Green River. At this point I think we will stick with boating and maybe a trip to the dam - can't miss the "dam tour"!!!

Kim and Mike have a camp chef stove and Kyle will bring his in-laws trailer. We have four camp sites - maybe we would want two more coleman stoves. We have two if need be.

Does anyone want to bring bicycles? We have our trailer if Cerva's would want to pull it our use it for packing any camping gear.

I am planning on shopping on Monday and will get together a list of things so as not to buy double of things. Let me know what snacks you are planning on bringing to share.

What else? Any comments, suggestions, or ideas?

Cost: The campsites are paid for and if the food should only be what you have to prepare for your meals. The biggest expense will be for gas for the boats. Dad and I will cover the cost for our boat. For the other two boats, I think it should be divided equally between the five families. We can try to be cost efficient on how much we travel in the boats. i.e. Do we want to go down the Gorge one day? I am thinki

This is my first attempt at posting pictures on the blog! Brennan didn't love baseball this year but he sure did look good! Brycen, on the other hand, loved tackling whoever had the the ball! And he didn't so much care if he got the ball, he was just in for the tackle! I don't have any pictures of Morgan playing ball this year - I feel terrible! She turned out to be a fairly good little pitcher! I still have one game left and then tournament play! So glad baseball season is almost over! Sure would have loved to have seen a Bee's game to top the season!

Hey guys.....we finally took some time to update our blog. Go check it out. We are still alive and kicking down here in Beautiful AZ. A little hot but WE LOVE IT. We look forward to coming to Utah to visit all of you. Flaming Gorge will be sweet, we can't wait. As far as we know there will be food and fun anything else will be icing on the cake. We will be driving up, we plan on leaving on Thursday night July 31st and we should be there on Friday afternoon sometime, just in time for the dinner with everyone. If you need any dental hygiene products let me know before we leave so I can gather them up for you. Here are some fun pictures from Bear Lake. Thanks mom and dad for all that you do for our family. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to take our families there and make fun memories together. The Cerva kids were so sad to go home. I must have heard them say how much they love it up there a thousand times this week, and how much they wish they could stay there all summer! Thanks again!

I am going to plan something for Dad's birthday - just not quite sure what yet. I am thinking the weekend after Dad's birthday which would be Saturday, July 26th. But this is over the 24th of July. What are everyone's plans? The weekend before his birthday, Dad and I will be at our ward's youth conference. We could maybe do something on Monday night, July 21st. Hey Davis's - it looks like you had a great time at Lake Powell. We do have lots of memories when we would take Jennifer, Kim, Alicia, Michael and Kyle. Had a great time in Powell. The boat ran fantastic and the weather and water were perfect! Next year let's plan on a family trip! I forget how much fun we had when we were younger--all the memories come back being down there!
